With Betty Collins Brown

Betty Collins Brown is originally from the coal mining area of Pound, Virginia where she met her husband Tomis Conard Brown about 50 years ago.  In the mid-1990s, they moved to their current homestead in Cullowhee, NC which was passed down to them from Tomis' grandfather.

Betty writes and records ballads about life in Appalachia and reflections about life as she lives it day to day. Recently she published a short story, "Brogans," in the book Women's Places, Women's Spaces. She also writes songs of inspiration, and songs upon request from family members and friends who want their story told in a song. The underlying themes of her writing are: the purpose for life, faith, family, friends, and blessings along the way.

Come to visit Betty this Spring, Summer or Fall! Join her in a relaxing front porch swing while enjoying a picturesque view of grassy meadows, pastures and tall mountains all in the Valley of Cullowhee, North Carolina.  While playing guitar and audio harp, Betty shares her both original ballads and songs from the hymn book.  Betty will serve you sweet tea on the front porch accompanied with a few homemade sweets. Her strawberry/rhubarb cobbler is to die for, especially when served with ice cream! This experience will last approximately 2 hours, and it is available during Spring, Summer and Fall.

PRICE Starts at $80.00
