With Capt. Richard Andrews
Capt. Richard Andrews has over 15 years of experience in North Carolina’s charter fishing industry. Born and raised on the Tar River, he began fishing the rivers, estuaries, and Gulf Stream waters of Eastern North Carolina at an early age. He worked as a mate on an offshore charter boat and on a tuna fishery at the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center, and has even spent a winter season running sailfishing charters in Isla de las Mujeres, in Mexico. Whether it’s battling giant Red Drum in the Pamlico Sound, twitching artificial bait to Speckled Trout, Flounder, and Puppy Drum on light tackle in the remote creeks, or enjoying rod bending striped bass fishing in the winter and spring on the Roanoke River, his enthusiasm and love for what he does will be contagious. He truly enjoys teaching his customers about our coastal ecosystems and promoting ecotourism in the area through catching fish and having fun on the water!
Capt. Richard Andrews will pick you up at Washington’s waterfront public tie-ins and then he will take you through estuaries and rivers of Eastern North Carolina to his favorite fishing spots. This area has excellent year-round fishing for a number of different species including Speckled Trout, Red Drum, Flounder, Striped Bass, American and Hickory Shad, and Tarpon. All tackle and necessary equipment will be provided.
